I is for Impecuniousness

The Yalestar family is going into one-income penury. That's right, we decided to not warehouse our baby for the sake of our own financial gain. Glenda is going to quit her job until next year. Originally, she was going to go back in November on a part-time basis and we were gonna take Olivia The Baby to this German lady three or four days a week. It turned out that neither of us was entirely comfortable with the idea of off-loading Olivia to someone else. And you know, life not being a rehearsal, we figured why not suck it up and make the most of this time of Olivia's life?

We figure we're fairly financially solvent for now. Our cars are paid for. The mortgage is not oppressive. We got a decent wad saved up. We don't have too many extraneous expenses like cell phones or satellite dishes or country club dues.

I'll just have to put off buying that sailboat for a few years.

COMMENTS

I applaud your decision, Yalestar family. You are good Americans.

The Stetson family has also rebuked daycare. Amy works 20 hours a week, and takes Liam with her 3 days a week for a half day, amy has her own office at a social service agency, so its kosher. I work 32 hours a week, and have the little man all to meself on wed and fri afternnoons while momma works. Cant beat it with a stick. Kids need their folks.
