Your Reis/Froberg/Wood axis has never been so wound up, so fluid and so convincing. Suicide Invoice definitely made the Vanek Top 5 of Ought-Two. The damn thing is rock solid start to finish. Much more Jehu than it is Rocket, but I've come around in my old age to all that stuff. While it's not the most wildly unpredictable bunch of songs around, but it's loud, clear and unrelenting in a time of too much trip hop and singer-songwritis . A first rate fist-pumper that made my walks to work an absolute adventure for about three weeks. Questions whether Rick Froberg is actually making Zionism hip with today's Michigan Fest scene, can be directed, directly. In fact I just typed up a "Rick Froberg Zionism" search and it brought up one review: Yale Herald review Hmmm. Yes, and the emo question. Dave Parsons assured me that Jehu was an emo outfit, and by default anything associated with that band or its members (the Juanitas too, Dave?) qualifies for the "E word" status. I'd say this is much more of a rock album than anything else and I'll back that up with statistics when asked. Nuff said there. Do yourself a favor, if you don't have this yet, go for it. Get lucky, America.
