The Donnas- Spend the Night

I'll just lay it out there right now: my musical taste ain't really all that musical. I'm a fat sucker for a phat gimmick, if the tunes rock AT ALL. Uniform bands especially turn me on. The gimmick with these honeys is pretty straight forward: they're girl Ramones for the present millenium. Instead of sharing an assumed last name, they all take the same first position moniker. That part is enough to get you (ok, me) hooked, but the rest of the gimmick is that they play like metalheads ca. 1984. Simple rockers that sound like they're mostly based on AC/DC to me, but the hypermasculinity and misogyny is turned around. This is girl power that never occurred to those pansy Spice Girls. These girls just rock the hell out. And you know they're gonna put out too. In the back seat, even. Then, they're going to ditch you and go get an older guy to buy a bottle for them so they can go get drunk and tell their gal pals what a small dick you have. Maybe later they'll sneak back and key your car too. Me likey. I can't help it.
